Forecast Discussion:
The latest cold front to move through Central and Southeast Texas delivered on cooler weather but fell short of the promised rainfall for Election Day (Tuesday). However, additional frontal systems are expected to sweep the Lone Star State over the next week, but Tuesday was likely the promising day for any beneficial rainfall, as these next systems likely won’t reward us in the rain department across the Brazos Valley. While this cold front left us wanting more rainfall, this next stretch of cooler weather is nice for the next week or so in the Brazos Valley.
Gulf moisture begins to infiltrate the atmosphere over Southeast Texas Thursday, bringing additional rain chances for those along Coastal Texas before a secondary cold front moves into Southeast Texas late Thursday into Friday. This frontal system keeps afternoon highs in the 70s areawide through the weekend, with morning temperatures dropping even further into the upper 40s to middle 50s through Monday across the Brazos Valley. While all this is going on, another weather system could try and squeeze out additional showers late Saturday into early Monday. Even if that doesn’t happen, we’ll see increasing clouds and cooler weather heading into the end of the week and into early next week. Either way, we could end the weekend on a dreary, cooler note across the Brazos Valley before sunshine returns next week.
