Forecast Discussion:
We’re wrapping up the weekend across Central and Southeast Texas, with temperatures on the cooler side under cloudy and damp conditions. Morning lows dip into the lower 50s before afternoon highs sit a few degrees below the 70° mark across the Brazos Valley to end the day Sunday. Showers will be possible throughout the day Sunday, with the best chance for isolated rains across the Western Brazos Valley and maybe a few sprinkles east of Interstate 45. The driving factor is a low-pressure system drifting eastward across the Lone Star State, bringing added moisture and rains with it to the Brazos Valley. Scattered showers are possible overnight Saturday into Sunday morning, with lingering rains throughout the day Sunday across the Brazos Valley.
With drier air behind these latest rounds of cold fronts, atmospheric moisture is limited across the area, meaning limited and light accumulation is expected late Saturday and Sunday. Latest model runs show a quick quarter inch of rain possible areawide in the Brazos Valley, with higher isolated totals of half an inch possible as well to end the weekend. With this low drifting across the Deep South, lingering showers and clouds remain in place across the Brazos Valley through the middle of next week before another cold front could push another round of cooler air into the region late next week (mid-November). Highs will slowly warm into the middle 70s across the Brazos Valley during the week, with cooler weather by next weekend.
