DROUGHT INDEX: The latest Texas Drought Monitor was released Thursday, May 28, 2026. Texas is seeing vast improvements across the western and central reaches of the state. The Brazos Valley has been downgraded (most of it) to “Abnormally Dry” (D0 – Drought Stage) conditions heading into early June. The month of May 2026 has been very wet, with some 6 inches falling across the region.
