Forecast Discussion:
Scattered rainstorms roamed the Brazos Valley throughout the week, bringing heavy rainfall, gusty winds, and clapping thunder. We’ll hold onto a 30% chance for isolated showers and storms through the overnight hours Friday for the Brazos Valley. Over the weekend, upper-level low pressure and tropical moisture will work together to create a widespread chance for showers and thunderstorms Saturday and Sunday for the Brazos Valley.

Stronger, efficient storms are possible throughout the weekend for the Brazos Valley, as tropical downpours could lead to heavy rain rates and some minor flooding concerns. Rain totals could run upwards to 2.00″+ by the end of the weekend for the Brazos Valley. Low-lying flooding and street flooding will be possible each day this weekend across Southeast Texas. Please do not cross a flooded roadway — turn around, don’t drown! Next week, high pressure dries us out and temperatures move back into the 90s, as the Brazos Valley nears the summer season and temperatures become hotter. Rain chances also end across the Brazos Valley.
