Forecast Discussion:
Another day with hot and humid weather across the Brazos Valley, with another one on the way Thursday before some cooler changes arrive in the Brazos Valley for the weekend. Our next cold front arrives in the Brazos Valley by the end of the week for Central and Southeast Texas, tumbling temperatures into the weekend. Temperatures drop into the 70s areawide during the afternoons this weekend, with morning temperatures ranging the upper 40s to middle 50s Saturday and Sunday mornings across the Brazos Valley, as this frontal system dives southward. Rain chances are off the books for the weekend, leaving the weekend clear and pleasant.

While this latest frontal system won’t be a rain producer, windy weather is expected through most of the upcoming weekend in the Brazos Valley, beginning as early as Thursday night and lasting well into Friday. A north wind blows 20-25 mph throughout the day Friday in the Brazos Valley, with stronger gusts upwards to 35mph at times. Of course, the combination of drier, cool air and windy conditions leads to elevated fire danger for the weekend, especially with all the dry and dead vegetation outdoors. Please use caution burning outdoors as any open flame could easily spark and spread, creating grassfires across the area. The cooler weather won’t last long because hot and humid weather returns next week.
